Last Friday, after weeks of speculation, a spokesperson for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle confirmed last week that the couple wouldn’t use the brand name “Sussex Royal” after transitioning into their new lives. This decision was made, per the spokesperson, “given the specific UK government rules surrounding use of the word ‘Royal.’ ‘
Still, the Duke and Duchess remain intent on starting a non-profit organization — not a foundation, as they previously indicated – as the couple noted in an update to their website, Sussexroyal. com. They just won’t be calling it Sussex Royal, as they had originally intended .
On Sunday, some thought they had discovered the new name of the Duke and Duchess’s upcoming initiative, after a report in the (Daily Mail) claimed that Meghan’s close friend Jessica Mulroney had tipped the Sussexes’ hand.

The publication reported that Mulroney had registered the website sussexglobalcharities.com under her charitable organization, the Shoebox Project — but she was quick to shut down the news in a statement on Twitter.
“If certain investigative journalists were to do their jobs, perhaps they would see that Shoebox Project Foundation is owned by a Mr Roy in North Carolina and has no affiliations or ties to our charity The Shoebox Project,” Mulroney wrote in a tweet
. “Happy Sunday.”
The Shoebox Project’s official account quoted Mulroney’s tweet and confirmed her sentiments. “Confirming officially that the ‘Shoebox Project Foundation’ is not and has never been associated with The Shoebox Project for Women,” the tweet read.
