A murder investigation has been launched following the death of a 16 – month-old girl.
The infant died in hospital on Tuesday, 17 September after falling ill the previous Friday.
She died from a head injury, according to a post-mortem at Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Police are not releasing the child’s name at this time, but have said her next of kin
Officers describe her as coming from the E 13 area, which is predominantly made up of Plaistow, Newham.
A man, 36, was arrested on 14 September on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.
He has been released on bail.
