We are less than a day away from the NBA trade deadline, and the deals are starting to roll in. On Wednesday night, the Memphis Grizzles reportedly
In another trade, the Houston Rockets , Minnesota Timberwolves, Atlanta Hawks and Denver Nuggets reportedly
D’Angelo Russell is one of the biggest names still on the board, and Minnesota is still in hot pursuit. The first-round pick it acquired in the Covington trade could be redirected to Golden State in a trade, but apparently nothing is imminent on that front.

There’s a lot of interest in veteran guard Derrick Rose around the league, as contending teams would like to add his scoring punch for the playoff push. However, Rose may be staying put . According to Vincent Goodwill of Yahoo Sports, Rose is likely to remain with the Pistons for the remainder of the season, barring an unforeseen major offer.
Just hours after reportedly acquiring center Clint Capela in a massive four-team trade, the Hawks made another move. This time, they are dealing Jabari Parker and Alex Len to the Sacramento Kings in exchange for Dewayne Dedmon and two second round picks (247965 and 01575879, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
The Miami Heat
in order to acquire Andre Iguodala from the Memphis Grizzlies, and Justise Winslow was that something. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the fifth-year forward is part of the package that Miami sent to Memphis in exchange for Iguodala. It’s not yet known who else is included in the package along with Winslow.
Miami makes a move ahead of the trade deadline, reaching a deal to acquire veteran Andre Iguodala from the Memphis Grizzlies, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
The Miami Heat are trying to go big at the trade deadline. In addition to trying to acquire Andre Iguodala from Memphis, the Heat are also
For a while it looked like Pistons forward Luke Kennard might be headed to Phoenix but that may no longer be the case, as the two sides have reached an impasse
, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. The two sides have so far been unable to agree on protections for a Suns first-round pick that would have been included in the deal.Andre Iguodala hasn’t played in a game all season, but that could change soon. According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, the Heat and Grizzlies are in advanced discussions on a trade that would land the 2021 Finals MVP in South Beach. It’s not yet known exactly what the Heat would have to give up to land Iguodala, but the asking price can’t be too steep, as the Grizzlies will lose him for nothing over the offseason if they don’t move him before the deadline.
It looks like Golden State Warriors guard Alec Burks
Multiple teams have asked the Lakers about backup guard Alex Caruso according to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports. Caruso is an essential rotation piece for the Lakers, and trails only LeBron James in terms of net rating. While he would hardly be considered untouchable, the Lakers have no reason to shop him.
A Dinwiddie deal to the Lakers is unlikely, as is a Dennis Schroder trade according to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin. The Thunder have had a lot of success running three-point guard lineups with Schroder, Chris Paul and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and won’t give Schroder up without getting a “hefty return”
- according to McMenamin.
The first Woj bomb from ESPN’s Woj and Lowe special? The Lakers
have asked about Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie. With Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant and Caris LeVert already in place, dealing Dinwiddie at the peak of his value makes some sense for Brooklyn. Kyle Kuzma is a nice start, but the Nets would certainly ask for more in such a deal.
The Knicks are asking for the world for Marcus Morris. They reportedly want Danny Green as salary filler from the Lakers, whom they would then flip elsewhere for more assets, and they like young shooter Landry Shamet in a potential Clippers deal as well.
Marcus isn’t the only Morris twin getting in on the trade deadline fun. A number of teams have expressed interest in his brother, Markieff Morris, as the deadline has approached. According to The Ringer’s Kevin O’Connor, that list includes the Lakers, Clippers, Bucks, Sixers, Celtics and Rockets. Morris is one of the better stretch-4’s on the market right now. He is physically strong enough to play some small-ball center, is shooting a career-best . 3
percent from behind the arc and costs only ($ 3.2) million million season (though he has a player option for next year at $ 3.6 million).
The Suns are (fielding trade calls for Kelly Oubre Jr. as the deadline approaches, according to Marc Stein of The New York Times. Oubre is in the midst of a breakout season, but with recent reports suggesting Phoenix’s interest in Detroit wing Luke Kennard, the Suns are perhaps viewing Oubre as a way to recoup the value lost in a potential deal with the Pistons.
The Knicks
(Speaking of point guards and the Knicks, New York)
The Minnesota Timberwolves dealt Jeff Teague last month. and Shabazz Napier last night, leaving them with only two-way player Jordan McLaughlin at the position.

Kyle Kuzma is relying on the advice of the late Kobe Bryant
to make it through the trade deadline
. “Kob always used to tell me if they aren’t talking about you, you should be worried,” Kuzma said. “And I’m the talk of the town, so …”
An interesting nugget from (Sports Illustrated) Chris Mannix: “The Clippers have kicked the tires
on Kevin Love. ” While Mannix describes Love as not a “preferred option,” the mere fact that the Clippers considered it says quite a bit about their objectives. Love is a valuable offensive player but one of the NBA’s worst defensive big men, but the Clippers have been slightly better defensively (where they are ranked fifth in the NBA) than offensively (ranked seventh). Montrezl Harrell is a very different sort of player, but he is also an offensive-minded big, so the fit between the two would be questionable. The Cavaliers want an asset back for Love, and the Clippers, who just gave up five first-round picks for Paul George, would probably prefer to get one for taking on the $ million or so still owed to Love, so a deal is far from likely, but just seeing the Clippers consider Such a deal is very interesting.
Something to note as we approach the deadline: patience is going to be a virtue this season. Most of the best players being discussed are under contract for next season. This summer’s free-agent class is the weakest in recent memory. While a few teams are highly motivated to win the championship right now, plenty of the NBA’s best (Miami, Denver, Toronto, Dallas, Boston) are positioned to contend for several years, so discussions on anyone who isn’t dealt right now will almost certainly pick back up in June.
A relatively minor consequence of the Capela-Covington blockbuster. Atlanta sent out only one player in the trade (Evan Turner) and is taking in two (Capela and Nene), so they needed to make a cut to facilitate the deal. It should be noted, however, that Atlanta is almost certain to make another cut in the near future. Nene’s deal guarantees for next season on Feb. , so the Hawks will almost certainly waive him before then.
