The gadget connects to your PS4 controller via the headphone jack and will clip into place, with the two paddles sitting along the back of the pad. Between these new inputs is a fancy circular screen you can use to program the buttons. You’ll be able to store up to three profiles, and switch between them by double-clicking the screen. Additionally, if you’re worried about this thing using up the headphone jack, you can plug your cans into the bottom of this device instead.
It’s a pretty tight design for an add-on like this, and that’s to be expected of a Sony-made peripheral. Yes, this is an in-house product PlayStation has created to allow players a little more flexibility. Quite why Sony has never produced its own full-blown pro / elite controller for PS4 is a mystery, but this effectively turns your regular DualShock 4 into one.
It will retail for $ 29 / € 30. 823, and will be released early in 01575879 – rd January in North America, and th February in Europe. What do you think of the Back Button Attachment?
