Here is Paddy’s verdict on Daniel Farke’s men, who again made a charitable donation to help winless Watford get off the mark at Carrow Road.

– Tim Krul

No chance with either goal. But other than that by recent standards this was a routine night’s work.6

– Max Aarons

Seemed unimpressed at the lack of defensive cover early on. Stuck to his task and one or two darts into the opposition penalty box.6

– Alex Tettey

Just looks out of kilter in the heart of the backline. Will Hughes flashed one shot over after a weak challenge. Later drawn out of the center with a costly missed tackle that allowed Gerard Deulofeu to provide an assist.6

– Ben Godfrey

Emi Buendia rightly copped flak for the opener but Godfrey’s attempt to bring the ball out of defense ended with a turnover to start that next phase. Fine block to foil Andre Gray.6

– Jamal Lewis

Switched off and it was too late to recover when Gray made a near post move before a cheeky back heeled finish. Did bring a fine stop from Ben Foster.6

– Tom Trybull

Bought Deulofeu’s dummy for the opener. Decent screening job in the second half when Norwich threw men forward.6

– Kenny McLean

Denied by a wonderfully athletic flying tip over from Foster. Threaded a couple of decent balls through in the first half. Not the worst City midfielder on display.6

– Emi Buendia

All the talent but needs to grow up fast. Silly trick in a costly part of the pitch was punished. Skied a first half chance under pressure.5

– Marco Stiepermann

Picked out Onel Hernandez for a first half chance. Better in the last two outings – admittedly from a low bar – but Norwich need more from him.6

– Onel Hernandez

At the hub of Norwich’s best first half spell. Seemed to delay with Foster to beat. Shots lacked conviction.6

– Teemu Pukki

Out of sorts. Which is a worry moving forward with Norwich so toothless. Couple of first half efforts straight at Foster.6

City substitutes

– Josip Drmic 5

Virtual passenger for final 15 minutes after pulling up with what Daniel Farke suggested was an ankle issue. But his intent did result in Christian Kabasale picking up a second yellow card.

(for Marco Stiepermann, 62)

– Todd Cantwell 6

Couple of wayward set pieces but knitted some moves of promise and injected much-needed energy and tempo. (for Emi Buendia, 62)

(for Emi Buendia, 62)

– Mario Vrancic n / a

(for Jamal Lewis , 81)
