The mother of the Alabama woman who texted she was “in trouble” after she disappeared from a country music bar with two men said she was grateful for the closure after the – year-old’s remains were finally found.
Paighton Houston’s body was discoveredin a shallow gravein a filthy backyard in Hueytown, about 90 miles from the Tin Roof bar she was last spotted at last month.
“Our family didn’t get the news we had hoped for but I am very grateful that Paighton is coming home. We don’t have to go through the torture of not knowing what was happening to her and where she could be, ”Chirlaine Houston posted onFacebook
Houston had reportedly gone to the watering hole with co-workers, and later texted a friend she might be “in trouble” and didn’t know where she was after leaving with two men she did know.
Police zoned in on the Hueytown house last week and discovered her intact corpse wrapped in fabric. Officials have yet to say how she died.
Neighbors said the home where Houston was found once belonged to an elderly man, theBirmingham News reported, noting it appears to be empty now.
Houston’s mom put an optimistic spin on the disturbing discovery.
“I prayed that if she was already in heaven, I just had to know so my heart could put closure to the missing nightmare,” she wrote.
“Paighton is eternally home with Jesus. Our family appreciates all the prayers, love and support from the Trussville community and around the world for Paighton. She touched the hearts of many in our efforts to bring her home and my heart is touched by everyone’s love for our family. ”
