Nicolas Pepe rescuedArsenalwith two stunning free-kicks in the final ten minutes to hand the Gunners a 3-2 win against Vitoria.
Unai Emery‘s side were far from their best and found themselves 2-1 down in the second half after Marcus Edwards and Bruno Duarte scored for the visitors either side of Gabriel Martinelli’s strike.
Arsenal were headed towards a discouraging result in what has been a difficult week for Emery but Pepe popped up twice to reverse the result.
The Ivorian’s first was a clever strike that wrong-footed the goalkeeper but his second was even better as he clipped an exquisite effort round the wall and into the top corner.
It was a huge win for the Gunners and the relief was written all over Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s face in the stands.
The Gabon forward was not part of the matchday squad and watched on with team-mate Sokratis.
And he couldn’t keep his hands of the Greek defender as he wildly celebrated Pepe’s winner in injury time.

Arsenal can now take confidence into Sunday’s clash against Crystal Palace at the Emirates.
Aubameyang can be expected to come straight back into the side, though Alexandre Lacazette started on Thursday meaning the Gabon forward could be pushed out to the left again.
