Manchester United’s injury list has shortened significantly in recent weeks but there are still a number of players who are fighting their way back to fitness.
Here’s a look at each of them …
Paul Pogba
Despite making his return against Watford, United will again be without star midfielderPogbain January due to an ankle problem. The Frenchman missed games against Burnley and Arsenal withOle Gunnar Solskjaerconfirming he would require surgery to solve the problem.
Pogba will miss fixtures against Manchester City and Liverpool in the coming weeks.
Solskjaer said: “Paul came back after a long spell out, two games, had a reaction, couldn ‘t go to Burnley, felt his ankle was sore, we did a scan.
“And it’s not the same injury, it’s a different injury. Of course, when you get that scan, we speak to him, you consult your own medical people as well like I did, when I did my operation. You want the best second opinion and the advice was to have it done. It’s not a major one and probably, as I said, three or four weeks. “
Expected return date: (February) vs Chelsea
Scott McTominay
Unitedwere dealt another significant blow on Boxing Day when McTominay was substituted at half-time during the win against Newcastle.
Solskjaer later revealed he the Scotland international had suffered ligament damage in his knee and would miss as much as eight weeks. He said: “Scott will be out for a few months. “
McTominay posted an injury update to his Instagram page on December 31 Writing: “A set back is a chance to come back stronger than ever, doing my best to be back on the pitch as soon as possible.” (

Timothy Fosu-Mensah and Eric Bailly
Both United defenders are yet to feature for the Reds this season after suffering injuries early in (****************************.
However, both players are back in first-team training and Solskjaer believes they will be fit enough to make a return to the reserves soon.
He said: “Tim and Eric are going to play reserves games soon, hopefully.”

Axel Tuanzebe
Tuanzebe looks set to return to first-team contention soon after recovering from a hamstring problem.
The defender hasn’t featured since facing Colchester in the League Cup.
United expect him to return shortly. Solskjaer said: “Players are coming back from injuries. Hopefully we can see Axel soon.”
Expected return date: (January) vs Liverpool
Marcos Rojocontinues to be unavailable with the MEN understanding his absence is due to him possibly leaving the club during the January transfer window. Solskjaer confirmed he wouldn’t feature against Wolves. “Rojo won’t be ready for this. There are a couple of feelings of illness and cold, which is normal for this time [of year], so I’ll just have to see who wakes up tomorrow and feels ok.”
