  1. Post update

    Leicester 5-0 Newcastle

“Rollicking” has been changed from a similar word that Jamaal Lascelles actually said …

  2. ‘We have had a rollicking’

    FT: Leicester 5-0 Newcastle

    Newcastle United

Newcastle captain Jamaal Lascelles tells Sky Sports:“Terrible from the boys. It is no one’s fault but ourselves. We went a man down but we still had 10 on the pitch and leaking four goals is not acceptable.

“We have had a rollicking off the gaffer and we really need to look at ourselves in the mirror. You have to make it hard for them. It is not good enough.

“The way we conceded the goals was terrible and it has never happened before. The boys do care and the man down was disadvantage but you can still roll your sleeves up because it is not good enough.

“It doesn’t matter what manager you have, but you have to have pride yourself and ensure you win your duels. We really need to sit down and look back at that. The gaffer wont let us have our heads down too much and it wont have an effect on other games. “

  3. ‘Teams must fear Leicester’

    Leicester 5-0 Newcastle

    Stephen Warnock

Ex-Liverpool defender on Radio 5 Live

It was nowhere near good enough from Newcastle today, there will be a lot of questions asked about Steve Bruce and his team.

Lets not take anything away from Leicester – they were immense today and great value for their victory.

Tottenham, Chelsea and Arsenal are Leicester’s challenge this season. I don’t see Manchester United challenging for the top-four places.

You have to fear this Leicester team and respect them – they have quality all over the pitch and on the bench.

When Brendan Rodgers came to Leicester I bet a lot of pitch players thought they would improve. He improves players. Jamie Vardy has improved – you could see his movement today – he’s more efficient and saving energy and it’s causing defenders massive problems.

  4. Post Update

    Leicester 5-0 Newcastle

Newcastle skipper Jam aal Lascelles has fronted up to the cameras and it is a very honest assessment.

He calls it “terrible” and “unacceptable”.

    Full quotes to come.

  5. (Leicester’s ‘close-knit group’)

    Lei cester 5-0 Newcastle

    Leicester City

Leicester striker Jamie Vardy tells Sky Sports:“We knew it would be a difficult game but we thought the first goal was important. We got that and want to kept the momentum going and came away with a very good victory today.

“I am delighted for Ricardo Pereira, slotted it in with a weaker foot. He is consistently good and will only get better. You can see what we have been upto on the training field and are implementing the manager’s plans.

“We have got lots of different ways to score, we used to be counter -attacking but we have different dimensions in attack.

“You can see the way we are playing, we keep possession but play it fast and has an end product.

“It is all the same off the field, a really close-knit group and get back on the training field for Liverpool next weekend. “

Anthony Diala:Criminal defending there by Newcastle for the 5th goal. No other way to describe it

Gee Em:LCFC vs LFC will be interesting, one had a hard tough game, the others a walk in the park without arguably their best player! It is beyond me why Bruce ever gets top jobs! I feel very sorry for Magpies fans.

  7. Post update

    Leicester 5-0 Newcastle

Brendan Rodgers is loving it, shaking each player’s hand and patting them on the back.

He is doing a tremendous job at Leicester.

  8. (FULL-TIME)

    Leicester 5-0 Newcastle

    All over.

A five star showing from Leicester lifts them up to third in the table.

Newcastle remain in the bottom three and they may well be there come May.

  9. Post update

    Leicester 5-0 Newcastle

Embarrassing is the right word to descri be Newcastle today.

  10. ‘Embarrassing’

    Leicester 5-0 Newcastle

    Stephen Warnock

Ex-Liverpool defender on Radio 5 Live

It’s half-heart ed defending. Ndidi just turns and lashes the ball past Dubravka.

It’s embarrassing. Steve Bruce will be desperate to get his team in the changing room and try to sort this mess out.

  11. goal

    GOAL – Leicester 5-0 Newcastle

    (Wilfred Ndidi)

    And it’s five.

He can pass, he can tackle, he can bully the opposition but can he score? Ndidi can.

Wilfred Ndidicollects the ball in the box with his back to goal , spins and scuffs a low finish into the net.

Not the prettiest goal, but the scoreline reads pretty for Leicester.

    (For Newcastle, a nightmare.)

  12. (Post update)

    Leicester 4-0 Newcastle

Leicester have worked harder in training than they have had to for the last 30 minutes of this game.

  13. ‘Foxes in hunt for t op-four ‘

    Leicester 4-0 Newcastle

    Stephen Warnock

Ex-Liverpool defender on Radio 5 Live

I firmly believe Leicester have a very great chance of making the top

They’re more than capable of going to the big six and hosting the big six here and beating them.

They’ve got a really good chance this season. They’re a really, really exciting team. They’ve been superb today against a poor Newcastle team but you can only beat what’s in front of you.

The intensity which they ‘ ve played at today has been brilliant.

  14. YELLOW CARD

    Leicester 4-0 Newcastle

Fabian Schar into the book, a frustrating lunge on Wilfred Ndidi.

  15. Post update

    Leicester 4-0 Newcastle

    Five to go.

If the ref has a heart, he will blow the whistle now, for Newcastle’s sake.

  16. ‘Magpies just want full-time’

    (Leicester 4-0 Newcastle)

    Stephen Warnock

Ex-Liverpool defender on Radio 5 Live

This is so easy for Leicester – they haven’t had a glove laid on them in this second half.

There doesn’t seem to be any pride coming into the Newcastle display, they just want the whistle.

  17. SUBSTITUTION

    Leicester 4-0 Newcastle

    Last Leicester change.

Demarai Gray on for mer Newcastle man Ayoze Perez, who gets a nice applause coming off.

SMS Message: Newcastle nailed on to go down. Even worse than Watford in my view. At least the Hornets have some decent attacking players, but need to get the defense sorted in January. Newcastle poor at the back, and if Andy Carroll is their savior up front, then they’ve had it !! from Dave from London
