In a major blow, accounting firm KPMG has decided not to renew its support of Andrew’s flagship Pitch @ Palace business scheme.

                                                                                                                                                   

Students at Huddersfield University have approved a motion to lobby the duke to resign as chancellor from the institution.

                                                                                                                                                         

Andrew is also facing increasing pressure to provide a statement about his former friend to the US authorities after one of Epstein’s alleged victims, known only as Jane Doe, called on him to “come forward”.

Campbell admits he went to Jeffrey Epstein’s New York apartment and said the financier was ‘creepy’.

The former Daily Mirror journalist had met Epstein’s pal Ghislaine Maxwell on a plane during a foreign trip and she invited him for dinner.

Alastair Campbell said:

“So I ended up going to Jeffrey Epstein’s very, very nice apartment in New York, I think the one where Prince Andrew was filmed peeking out of the door.

“He [Epstein] was a big figure within New York society. I’ve got to be honest – this is not just hindsight – I found him a bit creepy. “

However, Mr Campbell questioned whether it was “as bad as it is now being defined”.

His advice to the Prince was:

“I think, if I were him, I would do a little bit of show don’t tell, carry on doing what he does , yes, accepting there’s going to be all this noise around him. ”

Tony Blair’s spin doctor, Alastair Campbell has called the Duke’s TV interview a “mistake”.

The ex-Downing Street director of communications said the duke’s “manner was really wrong” and “he didn’t really have answers to some of the very, very difficult questions”.

Unlike other politicians, Boris Johnson has avoided answering questions about Prince Andrew.

The current Prime Minister was asked if he would encourage Andrew to co-operate with US authorities about his knowledge of the disgraced financier’s activities.

However, he brushed the question off, saying “nice try there”.

KPMG has not renewed its sponsorship contract with Andrew’s Pitch @ Palace, a mentoring scheme for tech start-ups and entrepreneurs.

The contract ended in October and Buckingham Palace said:

“A full program of Pitch @ Palace events is continuing across the United Kingdom.”

The fall-out from Andrew’s Newsnight appearance has already begun with the Outward Bound Trust, which the duke supports as patron.

One alleged victim of Jeffrey Epstein, a 31 – year-old known as Jane Doe launched a civil lawsuit against the sex offender’s estate and directly addressed Prince Andrew, calling on him to make a statement to investigators.

Represented by Gloria Allred, the woman said:

“I would also like to say I agree with Gloria that Prince Andrew, and any others that are close to Epstein, should come forward and give a statement under oath on what information they have.”

The Royal Family is standing by Andrew in the wake of his ‘car crash’ interview on the BBC.

Buckingham Palace has said there is “absolutely no question” of the Prince scaling back his duties.

The University of Huddersfield released an official statement in support of the duke.

A spokesman said Andrew had “long ties” with the university and “his enthusiasm for innovation and entrepreneurship is a natural fit with the work of the university”.

They had “nothing further to add” in relation to the allegations after Buckingham Palace’s emphatic denial of any wrongdoing .
Andrew was made chancellor of the university in July 2015.

Students at the University of Huddersfield will vote on a motion to lobby the Duke of York to resign as its chancellor.

The motion was tabled after Andrew’s interview with the BBC, broadcast on Saturday evening, in which he discussed his links to billionaire paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

The president of Huddersfield Students’ Union, Emmanuel Haruna, said: “As part of our processes to give students a voice, a student has put forward a motion to lobby Prince Andrew to resign as chancellor. “

The motion was discussed by the termly student panel at 5pm on Monday, and the outcome is due to be published in the next few days.
