Party and Remote Play improvements

PS4 Firmware Update 7.00 Party Chat Remote Play Patch Notes

PlayStation 4 firmware update 7. 00 is finally ready for launch. It feels like the update’s been in beta for an eternity, and although it doesn’t boast the most exciting list of additions, it’s still brings some nice improvements to Sony’s current-gen system.

For starters, party functionality is receiving a bit of an overhaul. Party capacity is being doubled, jumping from 8 players to 16, and Sony is promising better connectivity and better audio quality across the board. Not bad.

Next up, Remote Play is having its horizons broadened. Smartphones and tablets running Android 5.0 or higher will be able to stream PS4 games – all you’ll need to do is go download the PS4 Remote Play App from the Google Play store. 7. 00 also brings some neat iOS Remote Play improvements, such as the ability to display the on-screen controller at all times.

We don’t have a precise release date for firmware update 7. 00, but as the headline says, it’s arriving this week. Naturally, we’ll let you know when it’s available to download.
