The Antonio Brown drama just went to a whole new level.
Brown, the star wide receiver the Raiders acquired from the Steelers, is going to be suspended by the team after he got into an argument on Wednesday with general manager Mike Mayock about being fined, according to ESPN. Brown had to be held back by some of his teammates during the exchange, according to The Athletic.
While things didn’t get physical, according to NFL Network, Brown said he’d punch Mayock in the face and punted a ball, telling Mayock to fine him for that.
NFL Network suggesteda suspension for conduct detrimental to the team could potentially cost Brown $ 30 million in guaranteed money.
On Wednesday, Brown posted to Instagrama photo of the fine letterMayock sent him for missing a walkthrough, which cost Brown $ 13, 950. The letter noted that the 31 – year-old Brown had already been fined $ 40, 000 for missing a training camp practice.
“When your own team want to hate but there’s no stopping me now devil is a lie,” Brown wrote in a caption on Instagram. “Everyone got to pay this year so we clear.”
After waiting all summer to get through Brown’s blistered-feet and helmet sagas, it now appears Brown won’t be on the field for Week 1 when the Raiders open up Monday against the Broncos.
