Liverpool’s Roberto Firmino shares much in common with Newcastle forward Joelinton, but he’s told his fellow Brazilian that he won’t be having as much fun as him at Anfield on Saturday.

Joelinton moved to the Magpies from Hoffenheim for a club record fee in the summer, following the same trail that Firmino blazed when he swapped the Bundesliga side for the Premier League in 2015.

The forward has gone on to prove himself as one of the very best forwards in the division, and became the first ever Brazilian to score 50 Premier League goals when he struck inLiv erpool’s 3-0 win over Burnley before the international break.

In contrast Joelinton has just one, but it did happen to be the only goal asSteve Bruce’s side shocked Tottenham 1-0 in North London last month.

However, Firmino has warned him against doing something similar at Anfield.

“We have already talked about this (game), because we are linked to the same representatives and know each other in this way, “Firmino told Globo Esporte, via .

“I hope he also succeeds in England and continues to evolve in his career.

Joelinton grabbed the winner at Tottenham

“It’s always good to be able to face Brazilian players here in Europe. It’s nice to see so many being successful. Joelinton is one of them. Like me, he left Brazil early and went to Hoffenheim. And now he’s here playing the Premier League.

“For his style of play, he has everything to make it work. But don’t come and have fun on Saturday. ”

Joelinton also discussed the pair’s friendship with the same publication.

Firmino has established himself in the Brazil squad

“When I came to England, Firmino sent me a message wishing me good luck,” he said.

“He said if I needed anything, I just had to talk to him.

“When I score or play well, he congratulates me. Sometimes I comment on a picture of him onInstagram.

“He’s a great player, is having wonderful form and it’s no wonder he’s been in the national team for a few years.”
