After more than six months of waiting, Samsung is finally releasing theGalaxy Fold 5G smartphonein the UK, and it’s only available via the tech firm or EE.
The device from the future was originally set to release all the way back in March, but after a number of tech journalists broke review devices with relative ease, Samsung decided to delay the launch in order to make the handset as durable as possible.
Today, Samsung announced it will be selling theGalaxy Fold 5G handsetfrom (September) – and you can only pick it up from Samsung itself, from EE, or from a few selected, premium stores.
TheGalaxy Foldis the first truly next-gen smartphone that aims to totally change the market. Prepare for many more future phones to be foldable.
Armed with 5G network capabilities pushing download speeds into the stratosphere, a futuristic folding mechanism that transforms your phone into a mini tablet, and a super-smooth, powerful display, the Fold 5G will probably take the crown as the best phone in the world.
Samsung says the Fold 5G will have a huge 7.3-inch Dynamic AMOLED Infinity Flex Display, that folds down into a compact 4.6-inch HD Super AMOLED display – giving you choice between a thin, streamlined smartphone, or a mini tablet perfect forgamingand binge-watchingNetflixon the go.

As mentioned, we were supposed to already have theFold in our hands back in March 2019, but a few bad experiences during the review period pushed the date back.
With tech writers finding the folding mechanic breaking after just a few uses, and a flimsy screen protector falling off the phone with relative ease, Samsung had no choice but to head back to the drawing board to make improvements to the super-premium phone.
“While many reviewers shared with us the vast potential they see, some also showed us how the device needs further improvements that could ensure the best possible user experience , “a Samsung spokesperson said at the time.
” To fully evaluate this feedback and run further internal tests, we have decided to delay the release of the Galaxy Fold. “

And so they should, considering it doesn’t come cheap. The 5G handsetretails for £ 1, 900and is only available from theofficial Samsung websiteor fromEE.
