    (A) – YEAR-OLD boy died after being hit by a car as he crossed the road with his family in Birmingham yesterday .

    The teenager was hit by a black VW Polo as as he walked across Chester Road in Erdington at 6. (pm.)

    Officers were immediately sent to the scene and an investigation is underway.

    Detective Sergeant Alan Hands, from the force’s collision investigation unit, said: “We are still trying to establish how this tragic incident has happened and anyone who has information and hasn’t yet spoken to an officer should call us on 150.

    “This is a parent’s worst nightmare and it’s impossible to imagine their grief, but specialist officers will be supporting them as our investigation continues.”
