Belgian football players are under investigation after footage posted to social media showed a woman naked in the team’s club house.

Local media reported several videos have emerged reportedly showing the woman crawling around nude on the floor of the cafeteria and having sex with a player on a massage bench.

One player claimed to Belgian media the players may have gone “too far” but insisted the events were consensual.

However the woman’s mother has claimed her daughter was likely to have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol, and the family has filed a complaint, local news siteSudinforeports.

The club at the center of the scandal, Espoir Minerios, says it has sanctioned some players and is cooperating with authorities investigating the incident.

A judicial inquiry has been opened following a complaint by the woman and her family against the club after the footage emerged.

Local siteRTBFreports the inquiry is centered on five players – including two clearly identifiable in the footage as members of the amateur football club.

The series of clips posted to social media reportedly shows several players with the naked woman at the cafeteria following a training session last month .

One of the videos filmed in the club bar shows the naked woman sitting on a stool with several players around her.

The club told Sudinfo its management had hit both the player who took the woman to the club and another player who filmed the scenes with internal sanctions.

Its lawyer said the club’s management was aware an investigation had been opened, and said would cooperate with authorities.

The club claimed the young woman lodged a complaint following the circulation of news stories featuring the footage.

Its lawyer lambasted Belgian media coverage of the scandal, claiming the footage should not tarnish the whole club, including its players and volunteers who were not involved in the filmed incidents.

Verviers district prosecutor Gilles de Villers Grandchamps told local media his office had opened an inquiry into allegations of rape, and was also probing the dissemination of the images.
