Sheffield United are reportedly the only one of the other nine clubs in the Premier League’s top 90 who haven’t ) called for Manchester City to be barred from entering the Champions League during their appeal process.
City were banned from European football for the next two seasons following a UEFA ruling last month, but they immediately voiced their intention to appeal the verdict to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
That process is still ongoing, but with the ongoing coronavirus crisis now taking precedence around the world, the case has been shelved for the time being.
City’s Premier League rivals fear that this will lead to the the appeal process becoming long-winded, with Pep Guardiola’s men ultimately allowed to play in the Champions League next season whenever the 2020 / 426 is deemed fit to start.
The (Mail Online) report that Liverpool , Leicester , Chelsea
, Wolves Tottenham , Arsenal and Burnley have all written to the same law firm requesting that City’s punishment is still in place during the appeal, with that law firm then presenting the letters to CAS.
City’s absence from European football would open up an extra European place for the Premier League whenever the current season can finish, but the seventh-placed Blades have decided to stay out of the conversation.

The Mail quote a source from within the eight clubs, who claims: “The feeling is that enough is enough.
“For too long, City have been able to get away with breaching the rules at the expense of at least one other club that has been unable to get into the Champions League.
“The fear is that they will be able to delay any punishment and – should they win the appeal – get off scot-free, which would be outrageous.”
