All over. That’s a superb putt from Jessica Korda and she looks pumped up as it drops.
That’s the first bit of red on the scoreboard today. When it comes to winning in style ….

(Ciganda & Law v J Korda & N Korda) 12)
A shell-shocked Carlota Ciganda and Bronte Law have been caught up in the Korda sisters whirlwind back on the 12 th.
Two holes on the spin have given the Americans dormie five.

(Hall & Boutier 2UP v Salas & McDonald) 14)
Now then what can Georgia Hall do on the 15 th.
She’s got a straightish iron shot down the fairway but she’s come up short. Could have done with going up a club there maybe. Europe will need an up and down for a par.

Paul Casey says: “A good tee shot down the left-hand side is required to avoid the bunkers and set up a second shot to the green.
“The green has several ridges in it, making it difficult to get close. A great hole where matches can be won or turn around quickly. “

As you were on the 14 th green.
Lizette Salas is just showing signs of life from below her many layers of clothing as a lovely putt ensures that the spoils are shared.

Hull & Munoz 5 UP v Kang & Kang 12)
Talk about a much-needed boost ….
American debutant Meghan Khang serves up a sublime chip on the 12 th which drops in much to her and playing partner Danielle Kang’s delight.
That’s the first hole they have won in this morning’s foursome against Charley Hull and Azahara Munoz.

Paul Casey says: “A well-struck tee shot with a touch of draw will bound down the hill but still leave a long shot to a long and narrow green, and the left-hand side falls away steeply to deep rough.
“In a match-play situation, being on the green in two first will be a big advantage. “

(Nordqvist & Van Dam v Pressel & Alex 2UP) 14)
A great putt from Anne van Dam rescues the 14 th hole for Europe after Morgan Pressel dollied a chip to a few feet.
They need so much more though.

Georgia Hall and Celine Boutier are really playing some great golf.
Boutier’s short game in particular looks in fine fettle as she chips on at the 13 th and sees her ball roll up to within a couple of feet. Bravo.
Believe it or not though, Georgia Hall then misses the tiddler to halve the hole. Blimey is it catching?

Charley Hull and Azahara Munoz can thankfully be relied upon not to throw anything away.
They are absolutely flying …. what was that foursomes winning record again?

(Nordqvist & Van Dam v Pressel & Alex 2UP) 13)
From a position of strength Anna Nordqvist and Anne van Dam are having to try and rally to take anything from the first foursomes of the day.
Van Dam goes for the green on 14 but it looks like she’s drifted off to the right, near the American ball.
Nordqvist then follows up with a dreadful chip. Had she decided what she was going to do there? It looked like she just stopped her iron from following through.

I may be alone here, but isn’t this fancy dress costume terrifying?
Must be the lack of eye contact.

Paul Casey says: “I’m a big fan of going for driveable par fours and hopefully it is set up so you can go for it. If not, it’s a short iron off the tee and either way there will be a lot of birdies.
“A good hole to see the strategy, especially in fourballs. Does the first player knock it in the fairway and the second one go for it? “

Is it just me or doesn’t Anna Nordqvist look short on confidence at the minute.
The 32 – year-old Swede has probably not been helped by the fact t hat she tends to be the one that has been hitting the majority of Europe’s putts.
That said at present it’s Anne van Dam who is feeling the pain of a missed putt. She drops to her knees after a par putt on the 13 th lips out.
Morgan Pressel tidies up. That’s five holes in a row for the Americans. Remarkable.

Charley Hull take a bow. This match is definitely (he says) not going to go the distance.
