South Korean ISPs infect Webhard users with malware

South Korean ISP KT (Korea Telecom) has been caught infecting users with malware to throttle Torrent traffic on its network. File sharing is still popular in South Korea, but what is popular is the dedicated paid Webhard (Web Hard Drive) service. KT is one of the largest ISPs in South Korea, with more than 16 million users. It was found to be interfering with the Grid System used by Webhard several years ago. A police raid on KT's data center found dozens of devices specifically used to restrict Webhard. In the latest investigation, KT was found to actively install malicious programs on computers running Webhard, interfering with Webhard's file transfers. About 600,000 KT users were affected.
