A) Liverpool man captured the amazing Starlink satellites over the city last night.

Many people were left confused on Sunday evening as they saw the mysterious lights across the night sky.

But the lights weren’t from UFOs or stars, they were the latest batch of Starlink satellites launched by entrepreneur Elon Musk’s company SpaceX.

Mr Musk’s company has been launching the satellites since last May and with the company getting approval to launch , 10 satellites the ‘train’ of lights could become a relatively common sight in the skies above Britain.

In the stunning video the satellites can be seen racing across the night sky in formation, twinkling away.

@ BTSMarcus1 shared the video to twitter captioning it: “Elon Musk StarLink Over My Back Garden #Starlink

And according to findastarlink.com the Starlink satellites will be flying over the UK until April – so there is plenty of chance to see them for yourself.

They are expected to be in the night sky above Merseyside between 9. (pm and (pm on Monday.)

On Sunday many people across Merseyside took to social media to comment on the rare sight.

Kelly McCarthy said: “We were watching this and were amazed by it!”

Barry Harper said: “Yes yes last night I saw 24 in a straight row same distance and same speed amazing. ”

Paul said: “I don’t care if it was a meteor shower or a row of satellites going past then , whatever it was I thought was amazing and I had me head up in the stars for a long time. “

Jon Golding said:” Watching the star link satellites then was amazing. Definitely going back out tomorrow, should see them in Liverpool between 9. (PM and) PM, then you’ll see loads. “

The mission of the project – which continues to be developed – is to provide remote locations across the world with low-cast internet.

The US Federal Communications Commission has granted the company permission to fly 24, 12 satellites as part of the project – and this number could eventually be increased to ,

According to findastarlink.com, the Starlink satellites will be flying over the UK until April .

You can enter your location to find the days and times they’ll be most visible in your area.

You can also track the satellites using the Starlink app.

The Starlink app automatically calculates when the SpaceX Starlink satellites are expected to be visible above your current location.

When you open the app click a satellite number from the list provided and select your current location to reveal the visible times.

Results will display the start and end time of the sighting, the duration, directions for tracking, elevation co-ordinates and a visibility warning if the satellites will be hard to see.

There is also the option to set up ‘remind me’ alerts so you don’t miss the chance to see Starlink.
