FLOODS have caused a major incident in Herefordshire with rest centers being set up at the Holmer Leisure Center in Hereford as the county experiences significant and widespread flooding due to Storm Dennis.

A major incident has been declared in Herefordshire as the county experiences significant and widespread flooding from rising river levels and deep surface flooding There are four major flood warnings in place for Eardiston and Tenbury Wells in Worcestershire, Little Hereford in Herefordshire, Ashford Carbonell and Ludlow in Shropshire, and Burford in Oxfordshire. Emergency response partners including Herefordshire Council, West Mercia Police, Herefordshire and Worcestershire Fire and Rescue, Environment Agency and health partners are working to support residents and protect the most vulnerable.
Residents of the area are advised not to put themselves at unnecessary risk, to avoid any unnecessary travel and do not enter flood water.
People are tasked with checking in on neighbors, especially if they are elderly or vulnerable.
Efforts are being upscaled to ensure vulnerable residents are evacuated where needed and rest centers are being set up for any residents that need to be evacuated at Hereford city, Holmer Leisure Center, Holmer Road, Hereford , Point4, Venns Lane, Hereford.

Homes have been evacuated after the River Taff burst its banks, and forecasters warned locals could face several days of misery.
A further five amber and four yellow warnings are in place, with the whole of the UK affected.
