Strictly Come Dancingwas thrown into chaos tonight with a celebrity and two professional dancers forced
Presenters Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman announced the shock news at the start of theHalloweenspecial after viewers noticed some major absences.
Will Bayley and Janette Manrara were forced to pull out on doctor’s orders after the Paralympic champion nearly broke his leg in a studio rehearsal fall.
That wasn’t the end of the injury nightmare, as pro dancer Neil was also missing through injury, but he was replaced.
Alex Scott is partnered with fan favorite Kevin Clifton, who went out in the second w eek with Anneka Rice.
Will and Janette Manrara will hopefully be back next week after being given a bye to the next round.
In the slot where the pair were meant to perform, viewers got to see the horrific moment Will was injured during rehearsals.
After jumping off the table he landed with straight legs and was left in agony, fear he had broken them.
In a video clip, Will revealed he was gutted to be told by the medical team that he “absolutely” could not
Will said: “I jumped off a table and as I landed I landed with straight legs. I thought I’d broke my leg as I’d never felt anything like that before.
“But fortunately its not as severe as what I thought when I first did it.”
” To hear the words ‘I absolutely can’t dance’ was really gutting for me but I need to recover now and come back even stronger next week. “
Claudia then spoke to heartbroken Janette, who gave an update on her partner’s condition.
She said: “Well he’s obviously a bit gutted he couldn’t be with us dancing the jive that he absolutely loved all week. He’s at home on icing, taking care of himself and resting.
” Fingers crossed he comes back next week. Will, I love you, if you’re watching you know my heart is with you. “
Janette admitted Will had been looking forward to his next performance after an emotional couples’ choice last week.
She added: ” He is such a lively spirit. Everyone who knows Will knows how happy he is as a person.
“We went from Foxtrot to an emotional contemporary. He was looking forward to being loud and energetic.
“These things happen and we’re looking forward to coming back strong. You’ve got this champ.”
Another casualty on Halloween week was Neil Jones, who also suffered an injury that put him out of the show.
Claudia announced : “You may have also noticed that Neil is missing this week. Unfortunately he also suffered an injury earlier today and is unable to dance tonight.
” But fortunately the amazing Kevin will be stepping in. “
Strictly said: “Sadly, Will Bayley was injured during training and medics have said he cannot dance in the show this weekend.
“Under the rules ofStrictly Come Dancing, Will has been granted a bye to next week.
“Separately, Alex Scott’s partner Neil Jones received an injury whilst training this morning. Kevin Clifton has stepped in to partner Alex in tonight’s show. “
