STRICTLY judge Shirley Ballas needed a drip of vitamins after becoming ill following death threats from fans.
The 59 – year-old head judge had been targeted by furious viewers after contestant DJ Dev Griffin and his pro partner Dianne Buswell were dumped from the competition on Sunday .
And Shirley, who had been criticized for dishing out high scores to less able dancers, admitted it had been a “tough week” as she shared a video from her home on Instagram on Thursday telling fans she was unwell .
In the clip, Shirley sat in a huge leather chair with her feet up, and revealed the tubes in her arm, as she captioned her video: “Very happy to receive this drip today to help me get well. all sorts of things vitamin c magnesium b 12 and the list goes on.
“Feeling under the weather today as a result of a tough week. So @revivuk will have me up and running by Saturday.”
Her video comes as Dianne went on a tweet-liking rampage after fans slammed the judges for her early exit on Sunday night.
The 30 – year-old dancer, who came second in the competition last year with boyfriend Joe Suggs, and radio DJ Dev Griffin shocked viewers when they were given the boot after falling into the bottom two.
And it seems Dianne still isn’t over the decision as she showed some love for a tweet condemning the judges’ scoring today.
It read: “I know the scoring is all over the shop it’s mental! Yes! I’m obsessed with her blogs.”
Dianne then retirement the comment and wrote: “Awww love this thank you plenty more coming.”
She went on to thank another fan who reassured her: “It was very upsetting to see you breakdown …. I had a huge lump in my throat.
“My daughter and I had you and Dev in our final four as we could see how enthusiastic and hard working you both were.
“It’s nothing you and Dev did wrong, please take comfort from that. Big hugs.”
Viewers were left outraged asRadio One DJ Dev lost out to Viscountess Emma Weymouth in the dance off, with many expecting him to remain in the competition for considerably longer.
The result has maddened some fans so much, Dianne had to beg them to stop sending judge Shirley Ballas death threats earlier this week.
With accusations of under-marking,telephone voting lines being riggedand poor judging in the dance off, some angry viewers have allegedly threatened to harm Shirley.
It prompted one concerned fan to urge Dianne and her boyfriend Joe to calm their supporters.
The fan’s tweet read: “Please sort your fans out @dbuzz 6589 & @Joe_Sugg. I get why people are upset & I don’t think it was @dev _ 101 ‘s time to go.
“But sending vile abusive tweets & death threats to @ShirleyBallas is totally out of order. Imagine if it was a member of your family on the receiving end ☹️.”
