Police have begun a manhunt after three people were hurt in a stabbing in The Hague.

Officers are looking for a suspect aged about 45 – 50 years old.

He is believed to be of North African descent and was wearing a black jacket and gray tracksuit.

The attack happened this evening in the Dutch city’s main shopping street, known as Grote Marktstraat.

At the time, it was busy with people looking for Black Friday deals.

An area of ​​the street near the town’s historic center was cordoned off, and dozens of police and ambulances were at the scene.

It was not yet clear if the attack was terror-related.

Grote Marktstraat has been described as one of the most important shopping areas in the center of The Hague.
