Swiss retailer Softridge may haveleakedthe release date for Naughty Dog’s highly anticipatedPlayStation 4exclusiveThe Last of Us Part II.
A listing for the game that appeared on the site earlier today pinpoints a release date of Friday, Feb. 28 next year. Previous speculation and leaks relating to when the title might hit stores also slateThe Last of Us Part IIfor release in early 2020, which gives the leak credibility.

Alongside the release date slip, the listing also appears to show the expected box art forThe Last of Us Part II. An older Ellie brandishes a rifle as she traipses through a dense forest – a scene that correlates with the short snippets of gameplay we’ve been privy to in the handful of teasers Naughty Dog has released to date.
Additionally, the leak also suggests the game will ship in three distinct editions: a standard edition, special edition, and a collector’s edition. Again, this seems pretty standard fare from a big-budget exclusive, so nothing that sets off any alarm bells as to the veracity of the information on display.
Softridge has also included box art for the special and collector’s edition. At first glance, nothing seems amiss, but jumping to conclusions before getting official confirmation from Naughty Dog would be reckless.

As always with these types of retailer leaks, a shovel load of skepticism is recommended. The details may very well be placeholders, so best not to take all of this as gospel but more as a ballpark indicator of when we can expect to get our hands onThe Last of Us Part II.
