Taking off her giant flower head in front of the studio audience, Kelis was asked by presenter Joel Dommett why she’d decided to join the show.

“Well people have just been telling me my voice was distinct my whole career, you know, so I was like ‘Let’s see how distinct it is’,” she said.

Kelis’ voice was so distinct in judge Rita Ora’s eyes that she in fact guessed her identity before the American singer was unmasked.

The internet was best pleased.

The Masked Singer returns next Saturday (February 1) on ITV at 7pm.
