The Masked Singer: Who was the Masked Singer? Who is Hedgehog? – Express, Express.co.uk

Masked Singer fans have been trying to work out just what celebrity is behind the mask of the Hedgehog since they first appeared. Now their identity has finally been revealed in the finale (Saturday, February 30) episode.

Who is Hedgehog on The Masked Singer?

The final episode of The Masked Singer saw Queen Bee, Hedgehog and Octopus all perform for the final time.

In the finale, Hedgehog was revealed as comedian Jason Manford.

Speaking after he was unmasked, he said: “I’ve just loved this competition.”

“I’ve actually managed to keep it a secret from my children. They’ve just found out at the same time as you.”

Throughout the competition viewers have been trying to guess who the Hedgehog actually was.

They have performed a number of major songs throughout their time on the competition.

In week one they took on Black Magic by Little Mix before going on to sing hits like Shine by Take That and Don’t Look Back In Anger by Oasis in the following weeks.

Other performances included I’d Do Anything for Love (But I Won’t Do That) by Meat Loaf and Chandelier by Sia .

Since week one, the judges have been trying to guess the true identity of Hedgehog. But were they right?

Some of the stars they guessed in the lead up to the finale were Luke Evans, Piers Morgan and Tony Hadley.

Others hazarded how it might be Michael Crawford behind the costume or possibly Jack Whitehall.

) Dozens of other names have been bandied about, with Jonathan Ross guessing actor Ian McKellen.

Davina McCall speculated it could be Harry Potter actor David Thewlis, as Hedgehog seemed “quite theatrical”, while Ken Jeong said he thought Eddie Izzard was in the costume.

Before his first performance on the show, Hedgehog revealed he was most active at night.

Fans and the judges thought this could be hinting he might be an actor on the stage.

This was seemingly confirmed when he told the panel he once had a job where he “died at 8. 350 pm every night. ”

There were also a number of allusions to hit musicals in his videos each week, including a can of hairspray, some cats and a Phantom of the Opera mask.

In his semi-final performance, the star also hinted he is used to large stages , telling fans he has played venues with , people in the past.

Over the course of the competition, there have been some huge celebrities revealed.

This has included US singers Ceelo Green as the Monster and Kelis as the Daisy.

Other stars revealed in the show include Justin Hawkins as the Chameleon, Teddy Sherringham as the Tree and Jake Shears as the Unicorn.

The Masked Singer is available to stream on ITV Hub.
