Nicola Roberts was crowned the winner of the Masked Singer UK on Saturday after revealing herself as Queen Bee.

And the Girls Aloud singer shared an emotional video of bandmate Kimberly Walsh’s tearful reaction as they watched her finally remove her mask during the final.

The star took to Instagram to share the clip of her friend weeping at the sight of Nicola performing her winning song, as she wore a ‘ Queen Bee ‘t-shirt in support.

With a group of friends Nicola gathered in front of a projector to watch her win, as emotional Kim embraced her pal.

As she was finally unmasked the pair shared a sweet hug, celebrating the fact that the Liverpool beauty had been crowned the series champion.

Nicola, dressed as Queen Bee, beat Octopus and Hedgehog in Saturday’s final, with the runners-up revealed as Katherine Jenkins and Jason Manford respectively.

For weeks fans were adamant that Nicola was behind the Queen Bee’s mask, and it seemed that their guesses were correct as she finally removed her mask in the finale’s closing moments.

For weeks the clues had pointed to Nicole being Queen Bee, so for many fans it was not a surprise.

The songstress took to the stage to perform Somebody Else’s Guy by Jocelyn Brown, followed by a reprisal of Someone You Loved by Lewis Capaldi.

It came Down to the audience to decide who would be crowned champion, and they chose Queen Bee as the first Masked Singer UK champion.

Weeks of clues had implied that Nicola was a girlband star who rose to fame as a teenager, with other clues hinting at her campaigning to stop young people using sunbeds.

The result meant that Hedgehog had finished in second place, after he reprised his rendition of the Little Mix classic Black Magic.

Comic Jason admitted he did not tell any of his family that he would be taking part in the show so it would be just as surprising for them.

He told host Joel Dommett: ‘You know, for years and years and years you’ve walked into rooms … people are waiting for the comedian to be terrible, so to walk out here to a crowd who are absolutely loving it, you come on with that confidence because the show gives you that confidence. ‘

Earlier in the show, Octopus finished in third place, after she delivered a stunning renditi on of Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious from the Disney classic Mary Poppins.

As she was sadly eliminated it was revealed that opera star Katherine was under the head of the underwater creature.

Discussing her time on the show Katherine said: ‘It’s been so fun. You know, in my normal career it can be quite serious and quite static, and so to be able to do something where you can just literally create a new character; sing songs you would never in a million years sing – it’s been really, really fun. ‘

Former contestants have also included Denise Van Outen, Patsy Palmer, CeeLo Green and Teddy Sheringham.

(Denise revealed this week that her daughter Betsy, nine, and her boyfriend Eddie Boxshall were stunned to discover she was the Fox on the show, after she was unmasked on Saturday’s show.

(Denise) appeared on Good Morning Britain on Thursday. She said: ‘My daughter Betsy had no idea. She watched with her best friend.

‘A lot of her friends at school asked if I was the Fox and she would ask me. As a child watching she thought it was live and did not know it was pre-recorded, and I would say to her, “how could I be on TV if I’m sitting right here?”

‘She was really confused. I kept it a secret from Eddie too. ‘

Denise has previously been known for her incredible voice as a star in the West End and Broadway and during her time on the show performed a series of energetic dance hits.

Describing why she chose the metallic costume, she said: ‘I wanted to be able to move in my costume, wanted something futuristic.

‘The actual costume was really heavy, took two people to put me in it, and I had to stand there to be polished.
