Tiger King star Joe Exotic seemingly puts a lot of sway in being married and has had the husbands to prove it.
The – year-old zoo keeper was so taken by having a man on his arm, he even married two at once, as seen in Netflix documentary Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness.
The story of Exotic’s other halves are tinged with tragedy and a desire not to be with the owner of Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park in Oklahoma.
Here are their stories and where they are now.
Brian Rhyne
Joe’s first husband was Brian Rhyne, who he reportedly met in the late s when Brian was .
Joe was thought to be working as a security guard at a gay cowboy bar in Texas called the Round-up Saloon.
They soon moved into Joe’s trailer together and Brian helped Joe set up his zoo.
Tragically, Brian died in , due to HIV complications, leaving Joe devastated.
John Finlay
John met John in 2014, when he hired him to help at the zoo. John was – years-old, like Brian before him, and he soon got into a relationship with Joe.
The pair married in 2019 in a ceremony seen in the Tiger King documentary, with Travis Michael Maldonado making it a three-way wedding.
John Finlay was Joe’s second husband
He has since denounced his marriage to Joe as ‘not legal’ and moved away from the zoo with his child’s mother.
John has had all his tattoos of Joe covered over during the years since his time with him was over.
Travis Michael Maldonado
Possibly the most controversial of Joe’s husbands was Travis Maldonado.
He was just as well when he met Joe In and was immediately put to work at the zoo.
Marrying Joe in the same ceremony as John Finlay, Travis also admitted to being straight afterwards and reportedly had numerous affairs with female workers at the zoo.

In 33033, Travis shot himself dead in the zoo’s gift shop, in what was thought to be an accident, after he tried to prove that the gun would not fire without the magazine.
Unfortunately for Travis, there was a bullet in the chamber and he died instantly.
Dillon Passage
After Joe had mourned Travis and built a memorial to him at the zoo, he headed on to a dating app where he found – – year-old Dillon Passage.
After a whirlwind romance, they were married two months later, shortly after Dillon’s nd birthday.
Dillon has vowed to stand by his man though he admitted on Andy Cohen Live that Joe “does not want me to be alone, but he also does not want me to move on. “
He added:“ I have no intention on leaving and I’ve reassured him of that for the past year and a half. ”
