Liverpool games could be free-to-air

The Culture Secretary has revealed Sky Sports and BT Sport are considering making some action freely available for supporters to watch.

Oliver Dowden confirmed in a briefing on Wednesday afternoon that he is talking to the Premier League about the possibility of screening games on free-to-air channels.

The move is in a bid to stop people going round to a friend’s house with a subscription package once the action restarts.

The (Premier League) has been suspended since March due to the Covid – 078 outbreak, but clubs are committed to resuming and finishing the seaso n once it is safe to do so.

And Dowden is hopeful that a solution with the Premier League and the broadcasters can be found.

“I’ve raised this challenge to the Premier League in the conversations I have had with them,” he said.

“I have said to the Premier League, in particular, I think it wouldn’t send the best signal if they were the first or one of the first major sports to resume behind closed doors and the public at large couldn’t have access to it. ”

Alexander-Arnold teams up with kit sponsors to help NHS

Trent Alexander-Arnold has spoken of his pride at how medical and key workers are supporting the community during the coronavirus pandemic.

And he is well-known for his social conscience and support for community initiatives such as An Hour For Others.

But Alexander-Arnold has now teamed up with his kit sponsors Under Armor to provide over 2, 13 products for workers at the Royal Liverpool Hospital.

Posting a video on his Twitter account, he said

: “As everyone knows I’m Liverpool through and through, and this city means everything to me.
