Tower Bridge has been shut by police (Image TWITTER (Paul Roberts):
Traffic and pedestrians were kept away from the central London crossing, with police taping off the entrance to the bridge . A spokesman for City of London police told Express.co.uk officers were in attendance following reports of a “suspicious package”.
The bridge has now reopened after being closed for an hour.
Police said the package was found to be “non suspicious”.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: “Police attended Tower Bridge at . 350 pm to reports of a possible suspicious package.
“The bridge was closed while the package was examined and was found to be non suspicious.

While others were concerned the incident was terror related.
A Twitter user posted: “Please don’t let there be a terrorist attack in the midst of a global pandemic.”
