Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho, Declan Rice of West Ham and Leicester’s James Maddison are all targets for United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and chief Ed Woodward.

United have also been tipped to move for Erling Haaland after scoring 27 goals in 18 games for RB Salzburg this season.

The Red Devils will not complete any quick-fix deals to boost their season.

Christian Eriksen update

Christian Eriksen may not want to leave Tottenham in January because he could pocket more money if he waits until the summer, claims Arsenal legend Ray Parlor.

“I think the player will have something to say about [leaving in January], because he might say, ‘I’m not going anywhere’, ”Parlor said on talkSPORT.

“ From January 1 you can do your contract and pre-sign with whoever you are going to, and his wages will be so much more if he goes on a free transfer.

Arsenal told to make decision

Arsenal’s attacking players would benefit if head coach Unai Emery was replaced by fellow Spaniard Luis Enrique, claims former Gunners striker Kevin Campbell.

“Luis Enrique, I mentioned Luis Enrique. And I know he’s going through some bereavement with his family, with his daughter passing away.

“But it might be the kickstart he needs to get back into work, to get hands on and to just move on with his life. It might be the case, it might not, I’m not sure.

“But attacking football, that guy knows how to play. He knows how to play attacking football.

“We’ve got Aubameyang, Lacazette, Ozil and Pepe and the four of them have never played together, never been on the pitch .

“You would think, that four, you would build a team around that and you say ‘Right, you guys get on with it and we’ll do all the leg work around you ‘. ”
