Dubai: The Ministry of Education on Tuesday tweeted that the performance of homework will take place only through its smart learning portal, thereby eliminating paper materials.

The move, which comes as part of its plans to improve the performance of students through the distance learning system, does away with the need to print worksheets.

It also ensures students’ safety in line with the ministry’s precautionary measures. A ministry official, Fawzia Gharib, was quoted in the tweet as saying: “The aim of this procedure is to direct the energies of the students and invest them through the smart learning portal, which ensures, with its educational characteristics, that students carry out their homework in the best way, and reduce students’ contact with the external environment due to the health risks that this may cause.”
