The British soldier killed in an attack on a military base in Iraq has been named as L / Cpl Brodie Gillon. Prime Minister Boris Johnson said: “We will continue to liaise with our international partners to fully understand the details of this abhorrent attack. ”

Speaking to BBC News, defense minister Johnny Mercer said the UK’s commitment to peace in Iraq remained despite the “absolute tragedy”.
