Bruno Fernandes needed little time to impress his new Manchester United teammates, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and the club’s coaching staff, according to reports.
The Portugal international was signed by United in an € (million) £ . 6m) deal from Sporting during the January transfer window.
Fernandes has made seven appearances for Solskjaer’s side so far and has made an immediate improvement to United’s midfield.
According to The Times , Fernandes was eager to make a good impression and asked Solskjaer if he could start training just hours after he completed his medical and signed the paperwork to officially become a United player.
Even though Fernandes ’new United teammates were not at Carrington, he insisted on going out to the pitch to work alongside a fitness coach.
In his first full session with his United teammates, Fernandes could be heard shouting, ‘give me the ball!’ As he was intent on being at the heart of the play.
According to The Times, a member of United’s staff said Fernandes ’attitude in training’ gave everyone a lift ’.
The report also claims that Fernandes is intent on driving up the standard at Old Trafford. A United staff member said: ‘If he thinks something is not right, he will tell you so.’
Speaking earlier this week, Solskjaer admitted he was impressed by the attitude of United’s new arrival.
‘Bruno has come in as a leader and he has shown he is a leader,’ said the United manager.
‘He is a winner. He does not take 150 percent as good enough. ”
‘I like to see that in a player. He doesn’t change coming into a new team.
‘He is the same as he was at Sporting and that is a boy with confidence, with quality and good form.
‘That is his personality. He is allowed to be himself, everyone should be allowed to be themselves. ’
