WhatsApp has recently been updated with three new features making it more intuitive to use.

The messaging platform, used by over 1.5 billion people every month, has introduced the functionalities over the past few weeks.

The new features include reminders, call waiting and group chat invites.

Here, we take a look at how they’ll affect you …

Reminders

Last week Any.do, a popular reminders app, announced it was partnering with WhatsApp to allow users to create and receive reminders within the messaging platform.

The two apps need to be linked to work.

Sending texts like ” remind me to pick up food on my way home ”will prompt a response confirming the reminder.

When the time comes to carrying out the task in question, Any. do will send you a WhatsApp message to remind you, theDaily Expressreports.

“Be reminded as soon as tasks are due, straight through WhatsApp. It’s easy, simple and effective!”

Call waiting

Another update for iPhone and Android now allows users to be notified if someone is trying to call them while they are on the phone with someone else.

The functionality will allow you to decline the second caller or end your current calland accept the newest one.

Previously, WhatsApp would not alert user if someone else was trying to reach them while they were on another call – instead they would have to wait until they got off the phone to see they had missed a call.
