If you use an Android phone then there are several ways to view files on a Windows PC. The conventional way is to use MTP mode after connecting the USB cable so that Windows Explorer can display the phone's internal storage.

If you are a developer, you may also use Android Debug Bridge to view or operate files in your favorite way through the command line. Of course, ADB itself also supports wireless connection.

Now Microsoft is ready to provide Android users with a new connection method, pairing the phone through Windows 11's Phone Link and displaying files in the resource manager. This method also supports viewing files remotely.

Microsoft is already developing related features in the Windows 11 preview version. It is not complicated. First, users need to install the Phone Link companion app on their Android device and pair it with a Windows 11 PC. After pairing, turn on “Show phone in File Explorer” in Phone Link of Windows 11.

This requires additional authorization, which is to send a message to the phone using Phone Link to request permission to read any file. Once the user authorizes it, Phone Link can then read the files on the phone and display them in the file explorer.
