MAURICIO POCHETTINO was happy with his side’s start as he desperately searches for positives.

He spoke to BT Sport after the match.

The Spurs chief said: “I don’t need too much time to explain. We played 30 mins well, started well, pressing high. But we were unlucky that we conceded in the first minute of the half.

“They were very clinical. After we scored the penalty for two we had chances to score the third. But from the 83 rd and 88 th minute we conceded three more goals.

“In football it can happen. Every single touch went in. We are very disappointed and very upset but we have to stay together. I think we are strong in our mentality.

“Maybe you are bored about my speech but football is today not yesterday. It is always is about the show. You have to do it today and tomorrow. It is not about experiences and what happened three months ago.

“We are disappointed. Every single touch from Bayern was clinical. They scored with every touch. It is tough to accept. You have to move on.

“This type of situation you have to face. It is tough and you need to be strong and keep going. Stay together, help each other and be all together.

“When you receive this type of result it is important to bounce back and believe in yourself. It is the only way to recover. ”

HERE’S how Simon Rice rated the bewildered Spurs players.

    Hugo Lloris – 2 / 10

The Frenchman stopped a few stinging shots on a tricky night for keepers due to the extreme wet weather. But on a night when you concede SEVEN goals, a score of two feels generous.

    Serge Aurier – 2

Should have been off the pitch inside 10 mins for a sickening tackle in which he jumped two footed on David Alaba. A liability at the back as well but his desire to get forward did also cause Bayern problems. Lost the plot in the second half.

    Toby Alderweireld – 4

Some good clearing headers but like the rest of the defense, totally embarrassed in the second period.

    Jan Vertonghen – 3

Was made to look a fool in the build up to Bayern’s second goal as Lewandowski flicked the ball over his head.

    Danny Rose – 3

Won the penalty for Spurs but that’s as good as it got. Struggled to get forward and was torn apart at times by Coman – who he blatantly fouled in the box but somehow got away with.

    Harry Winks – 2

Gave away possession in midfield time and again and was eventually punished when Gnabry scored his second. Poor game.

    Tanguy Ndombele – 4

Great through ball early on and then provided the assist for Son’s opener after sloppy defending from Bayern. He should have scored soon after. At fault for Bayern’s first and second goals. First he let Kimmich find space to score from the edge of the box and then failed to clear his lines which saw Lewandowski hit the back of the net. Replaced by Eriksen just after the hour mark.

    Moussa Sissoko – 5

Snatched at decent chance with the score at 2-4 – and oh boy it could have been different had he scored it.

    Dele Alli – 3

Looked dangerous when he got on the ball in the first half but he lacked that killer edge that at one stage in his career stood him out. Let a few opportunities get past him in the second half before Poch saw enough and replaced him with Moura after 70 mins.

    Heung-Min Son – 6

Got the opening goal after making the liveliest start on the pitch. Was a total nuisance for Bayern. Struggled to keep up those high standards in the second period.

    Harry Kane – 5

Will be frustrated with himself he didn’t score after rounding Neuer but he just couldn’t quite get the pace on his shot with his left peg , allowing Bayern to clear. Scored the penalty for Spurs.

SUBS – Eriksen (on for Ndombele after (mins) – 5

Stinging shot from range just after coming on made you question why he didn’t start. Had another shot from range but flew over the bar.

Lucas Moura (on for Dele after (mins) – 4

Made very little impact after coming on with Bayern running riot at the other end.

EX-TOTTENHAM winger Chris Waddle has blasted Mauricio POchettino’s tactics in the humiliating 7-2 defeat.

He told BBC Radio 5 Live: “I do not get the tactics. It’s not playing to their strengths.

“I don’t think Serge Aurier wants to be there, Christian Eriksen hasn’t signed a new contract.

“There is so much going on off the pitch. It should have been dealt with over the summer instead all the contract questions are still going on.

“It’s a shambles. You have no idea where you stand. A club of this stature should not be like this.

“They have to sort it out quickly. It’s a genuinely shocking scoreline. ”

RIO FERDINAND has urged Harry Kane to leave Tottenham if he wants to win trophies – just like he did when he left Leeds.

The England skipper is yet to win a major trophy with Spurs following this year devastating defeat to Liverpool in the Champions League final.

Tottenham have not secured any silverware since 2008 when they beat Chelsea in the League Cup final.

And Ferdinand has insisted it is time for the 26 – year-old to leave North London – before it’s too late.

Ahead of their disastrous 7-2 defeat to Bayern Munich, Ferdinand told BT Sport: “It leads me to look at Harry Kane.

“What are you in the game for? Are you in the game to be a one club man or to win trophies? Do Spurs look like a team capable of winning trophies?

“I don’t think so. They were a better team a couple of years ago.

“Leeds is a similar example, I was maybe a year or two younger but I was in a team at a Champions League semi-final, nearly won the league, but I thought I had the opportunity to go.

“I made a very quick decision to go and win trophies.”
