Manchester United look set for a huge squad overhaul this summer as the club reportedly looks to bring in several first-team scouts.
Executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward and the club’s owners the Glazer family have come under enormous criticism over United’s recruitment in recent years.
Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s current squad has been deemed by many objectives to be inadequate for a club of United’s stature, with the Red Devils currently languishing six points behind the Premier League’s coveted top four places.
Much of the blame for that situation has been laid at the door of the club’s transfer strategy, with several big-money flops having failed to replicate the success the club enjoyed before legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson retired in .
Now the club are seeking to rectify that by bringing in several new first-team scouts to scour the world for the finest talent, according to a report from the Daily Mail .

United
spent heavily last summer on center-back harry Maguire, right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka and winger Daniel James, but are still some way short of having a squad good enough to challenge for the top honors.
The January transfer window hasn’t gone well for United so far, with Borussia Dortmund having snaffled top target Erling Braut Haaland, who has already scored five goals in two games for his new club after joining from Red Bell Salzburg.
And negotiations over the potential transfer of Sporting Lisbon captain Bruno Fernandes appear to have hit an impasse with United unwilling to meet the Portuguese club’s £ 90 million valuation.
