Luke Shaw has called on Manchester United fans to ditch plans for a mass walkout during the Premier League fixture against Wolves.

Old Trafford could empty out in the th minute of the Saturday evening clash as supporters plot to vent their fury against the club’s ownership.

Fans have grown increasingly frustrated with owners the Glazers and executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward amid the club’s worst Premier League campaign for many years.

But United left-back Shaw has urged fans to stay in their seats for what is a massively important fixture in the club’s race for Champions League qualification.

“We understand the way they’re feeling with current results and the performances that we’ve sometimes given,” the – year-old told talkSPORT.

“But we know they’ll always be there at the end to support us. We know they’ll never stop supporting us and we all appreciate it.

“Hopefully they can keep giving us support and get behind us in a massive game against Wolves. ”

However, Shaw admits that United have to do their bit to get the Old Trafford faithful back on side.

The Red Devils have lost their last two Premier League games without scoring, including a 2-0 defeat at home to Bunrley in their last top-flight outing.

“It’s understandable,” he added. “Fans have their say, pundits have their say, but we know when we’ve not been good enough.

“We don’t need to read into that stuff. We’ve been playing for so many years, we know when we haven’t been at our best.

“We understand the atmosphere, especially after a defeat at home to Burnley, and we know we need to be better.”
