One time, he congratulated a baker on having “great penetration of the drizzle” and critically advised another that their bake needs to be “risen and rested before it goes in”. We’re still talking about food…

It’s about time somebody pointed out the cheeky innuendo to him in the tent, right? Well, it finally happened during the show’sfirst-ever Dairy Week.

The Showcase challenged bakers to put their own spin on the Bengali treat mishti doi, a sugary sweet dough. Shop assistant Steph Blackwell creatively decided to make her version a nod to The Pink Panther.

But when she presented the finished product to impressed judges Paul and Prue Leith, Paul wasn’t quite getting “panther” from the long pink mishti doi.

“It reminds me of a hotdog,” Paul admitted while smiling from ear to ear.

Steph rolled with the punches like no other baker before her and actually called Paul out, quipping: “I’m open to suggestions about what it reminds you of!”

That line alone made her a legend for some of those watching along:

Whether it was a hot dog or panther, the judges were impressed enough with Steph’s entry that she was named Star Baker for the week!

We can’t wait to see which naughty bake she makes for 1920 s Week, coming next Tuesday!
