Beyonce’s father Mathew Knowles has revealed he has been diagnosed with breast cancer.

The 67 – year -old has spoken about the condition in an interview with Good Morning America (GMA), which will air later on Wednesday.

Knowles formerly worked as manager to both Beyonce and her sister Solange, as well as Destiny’s Child.

In a preview clip shared by GMA, he is asked by presenter Michael Strahan how he felt telling his family about the diagnosis.

Knowles himself posted on social media about the interview on Tuesday, saying he would be “making a special announcement”.

It is not yet known when the diagnosis was made or at what stage he is at in his treatment.

 

Breast cancer in men is rare but does occur, usually in men aged over 60, according to NHS guidance. )

The outlook for patients varies depending on how far it has spread by the time of diagnosis.

Symptoms include a lump in the area, inverted nipples, a rash that does not go away or hardening of the skin around the nipple, and small bumps in the armpit.
