B&M Bargains shoppers have figured out a way to pick up ‘secret’ discounts on items – thanks to a handy tool offered by the high street retailer.

The chain’s mobile app lets you scan items on the shop floor – and customers have been using it to unlock some mammoth discounts.

In some cases customers have found furniture for £ 1, while others have managed to pick up seasonal stock for 10 p .

The app, which is available to download for free on any smartphone, has a handy scanner tool that you can use to check for up to date prices.

It also has a personalized service that tells you when discounts land before they go fully public.

To use it, all you have to do is scan the barcode of the product on your phone to see the price current price of the item.

OnFacebookpageExtreme Couponing, one shopper garnered more than 6, 000 likes after revealing she managed to pick up a £ 49 chest of drawers for just £ 1 using the app.

Another managed to pick up a 100% cotton Silentnight towel for just £ 4 instead of £ 19. 99, while shopper Belinda, spotted garden chairs once listed for £ 15 – down to £ 1.

2. Once downloaded onto your mobile device, open the app.

4. Along the bottom of the app, you will see several options with the final option displaying more.

5. The ‘Scan The Item Barcode ‘tool will show you the item price and reduced price if the item has been discounted further.
