Fans of the hit Epic Games program wondered if their cherished game was deleted as the island that plays host to the online battle royale was destroyed – leaving nothing but a black hole.

The search term ‘Elon Musk buys Fortnite’ began to trend on Google.

Last year, Musk retlective a fake news article headlined: ‘Elon Musk buys Fortnite and deletes it.’

Musk then teased online gamers by retweeting the link, writing: ‘Had to be done ur welcome.’

But gaming experts assure fans that Musk did not have anything to do with Sunday’s event.
