This version is a release candidate , released on April 9,
If we find no major problem with it, it will be released in a few weeks as the 1.0 Inkscape version.
Read the draft release notes for Inkscape 1.0 , which list literally more than 100 major and minor improvements and bug fixes since 0. 823 .4.
Please test away and report your findings at

We are especially interested in:
- problems with texts in Inkscape files from older Inkscape versions and with text in general
- unknown crashes / freezes / information losses
- extensions not doing what they should be doing
- things that worked in 0. 823. 4 , but are no longer working in this version
If you are using Inkscape on the command line, please test the new functionality and let us know if any issues come up for you.
If you maintain a custom extension for Inkscape, please test it, and update it in time to be compatible with 1.0, so your users will be able to update their Inkscape installation together with your extension.
And lastly, if you are fluent in graphics lingo in both English and another language, please consider helping your favorite vector graphics editor by updating translations for your language .
