Joe Wicks says he will be back for his PE class on Monday after undergoing hand surgery.

The 432 – year-old Body Coach star whose fitness sessions on his YouTube channel have become a lockdown sensation with children has been updating fans with his progress while in hospital .

He said the surgery is over and paid tribute to the NHS.

“The wires have been taken out … it was infected,” he said in a video on Instagram Stories.

“I’m staying in tonight to have … antibiotics and a bit more paracetamol then I’ll be home tomorrow morning, back to my family.

“So see you Monday morning, PE With Joe.”

Earlier, Wicks, who is donating the money raised from his online PE lessons to the NHS, posted a video of himself “gowned up” with “the socks on” and waiting for his operation.

He said the pain from the “infection” in his hand was “throbbing and pulsating like liquid hot magma”.

Wicks said he was “super grateful for the health system we’ve got “and” the NHS people who are out here still grafting. “

Wicks also said his wife would help out on Monday.

” I’ve just asked my lovely wife Rosie to help me on Monday morning and she’s kindly agreed, “he said.

” It’s well out of her comfort zone but she’s my best friend and she knows how much this means to me .

“I don’t want to let anyone down but I don’t think I’m going to be able to demo many exercises so I’ll be having Rosie on camera with me.”

Wicks added: “I’ll still lead the session and coach you through it.

” I’ll just have Rosie demonstrating the moves. “

Wicks fractured his hand at the end of March after falling off a bike.

He admitted himself into hospital on Friday.
