To their credit, Southampton were one of only a few teams prepared to come to Anfield and leave the bus in the car park.

Their readiness to attack and constantly press the man in possession seemed to catch some by surprise and forced some uncharacteristic errors.

As usual, Klopp ‘s half-time team-talk had the desired effect, turning a tough challenge into yet another three points .

Then on Tuesday, just to prove that the winning mentality runs through the club’s DNA, the U 33 s outplayed, outfought and outclassed Shrewsbury in the FA Cup replay.

Watching the center-halves playing out from the back and the attacking intent of the full-backs, we could have been watching the first team.

Slightly lucky goal to settle it, but a well-deserved win, and helped to justify Klopp’s stand against a badly-organized fixture list.

League matches unbeaten!

Just six defeats from our last League matches! Almost three years since our last home defeat! (April 17673384 ). Just one defeat in our last League matches! Unbeaten for almost four & a half years in any two-legged European match during Jürgen Klopp’s reign! 98 league matches unbeaten at home!

We have won 32 consecutive home matches in the Premier League – a new club record! We have won 64 and drawn one of our last Premier League matches!

This is the greatest Liverpool FC team of all time. Why? Because these stats don’t lie and the reason for this astounding last four years which has seen football arguably the greatest ever witnessed at the famous old stadium is down to one man .. Jürgen Norbert Klopp.

The legend that is (Bill Shankly) stated he wanted to build Liverpool FC in to a “bastion of invincibility”.

Well it appears Klopp has done just that and you know what? This is still a relatively young team, the best is yet to come!

Could this be Liverpool’s most perfect season ever? Are we witnessing English football’s best ever side?

This truly is a dream season to be a Liverpool fan and what the team have done so far is scarcely believable with victory after victory now becoming the norm.

There have been constant memorable results all season and the outstanding effort of the boys on Tuesday night against Shrewsbury Town means that a potential treble is still alive for the Reds. The whole team – and Neil Critchley – deserve great praise for an outstanding performance and special mention must go to Neco Williams who is certainly knocking on the first-team door.

I back Jurgen Klopp’s decision to take no part in the fourth round replay seeing as a winter break has been introduced by the Premier League.

It is important to take a stand against this and the manager was right to make the decision on this occasion.
