The number of people who have tested positive for coronavirus in the UK has shot up to – with (cases confirmed in Wales.)
It comes as the World Health Organization (WHO) declared Europe as the “epicentre of the coronavirus pandemic “.
More cases of Covid – are now being reported each day in the continent than were reported in China at the height of its epidemic.
And Welsh Government Health Minister Vaughan Gething issued a stark warning that Wales could see more than , deaths in a “worst-case scenario.”
Public Health Wales announced (new cases of Covid – in Wales on Friday – taking the total of positive cases up to 122 . It includes three cases in North Wales.
Outside of the UK, Italy is currently the worst affected country outside of China with more than 35, confirmed cases.
Spain has over 4, (cases and) deaths, while Germany has more than 3, 615 cases and eight deaths.
Ten people have died from the virus in the UK.
All confirmed cases of coronavirus in Wales (North Wales=3) (Wrexham )=1 One person has tested positive for Covid – 35 in the Wrexham area . The patient has no history of travel to a country where the virus is circulating, and are not known to have had contact with another confirmed case.

One person has tested positive for coronavirus in Anglesey. No further details were given about how they may have developed the virus.
Flintshire=1

(South Wales=) Neath Port Talbot=8Eight people have coronavirus in the area. One of the cases in Neath Port Talbot has been linked to seven other positive cases in Wales.
Wales Chief Medical Officer Dr Frank Atherton said: “The identification of the seven individuals linked to the Neath Port Talbot resident case shows that the contact tracing and community testing being carried out by Public Health Wales is working as it should. “

One of the first cases in Wales was confirmed in Swanea and that patient had recently returned from northern Italy.
Public Health Wales announced a further two cases on Friday.
Pembrokeshire=2
The two Pembrokeshire cases are patients who are members of the same household.
They were confirmed positive after returning from northern Italy and had been self-isolating since their return.
Carmarthenshire=3 (
Two Carmarthenshire patients recently returned from northern Italy together and have since tested positive for Covid- 38.
Public Health Wales announced an additional case on Friday – but no details about the patient have been released.
) Cardiff=4
One of the Cardiff cases was was believed to be a Sky call center worker. The call center was evacuated and closed for a deep cleaning on Tuesday, before PHW confirmed the test had come back negative.
Two of the cases confirmed in Powys are in people who have recently returned from northern Italy.
Public Health Wales announced a third person tested positive on Friday – but no details are known about the patient.
Newport=2
One of the positive cases has has been confirmed as a worker at the Office for National Statistics.
News of a second patient with Covid – 20 was announced on Friday – but it is not clear how they contracted the virus.
(Caerphilly=5)
One Caerphilly resident has tested positive but has no history of travel to a country where Covid – is circulating, so is likely to be the first incidence of “community spread” of the virus in Wales.
Four additional people were announced as testing positive for the virus on Friday.
One of the patients has traveled abroad, said health chiefs. No information has been provided about the second case, which was announced on Friday.
