Shaughna Phillips has been dumped from the Love Island villa after Luke Mabbott chose to couple up with Demi Jones in the most emotional re-coupling yet.
In tear-jerking scenes the brunette beauty said that ‘couldn’t believe’ her time in the villa was over, as she bid farewell to the show after failing to convince Luke to choose her.
Shaughna had admitted her feelings for Luke just days earlier after he began to pursue a romance with Demi , and after confessing it was the ‘hardest decision he’d ever made’ in the villa, he decided to ‘go with his gut’ and couple up with Demi.

As the Islanders gathered at the fire pit for the re-coupling, newcomer Jamie opted to pair up with Natalia Zoppa, hinting that Luke would have to make the dreaded decision between Demi and Shaughna.
Standing to announce his choice, Luke said: ‘When we do talk it’s easy the conversations flow and she never fails to make me laugh.
‘I feel like she hasn’t had the best luck in the villa but I do feel that is gonna change. This has been the hardest decision I’ve had to make yet and I don’t want anyone to go and I had to go with my heart and my gut. ‘

The Islanders struggled to hide their devastation, with Paige Turley breaking down in tears at the prospect of losing her closest friend in the villa.

Demi also embraced Luke before adding that he did ‘really well.’
Speaking about her time on the show, Shaughna said: ‘I definitely found love with my Paige, my Love Island experience has been a rollercoaster a traffic jam but one I’ve loved absolutely every minute of, and I can’t believe it’s kind of over.’
In her exit interview, Shaughna reflected on the disastrous end to her relationship with Callum Jones, admitting she should have seen the signs it would end in disaster.

She said: ‘If I had my time again I’ d definitely have ditched Callum soon er than Casa Amor, which would then have left me with some ” openness’ ‘and then I’d have probably noticed I liked Luke M a lot sooner than I did.’
Shaughna went onto insist she is fully behind Demi and Luke’s romance, adding: ‘I think there could be a genuine connection there. They are two of the loveliest people I’ve ever met.
‘They’re two very good looking people and they’re honestly such sweethearts so I can only imagine those two going on to do good things.’
