We are looking to hire aDigital Marketing Managerto help us grow our college from 100 to 1000 students. From our physical building, accreditation, college faculty to funding, we have gotten all parts of the company ready for huge growth. Now it’s up to you to get the word out about Make School to the right people in the right way. Design, monitor and optimize every step of the acquisition journey to help us grow our application numbers while decreasing our customer acquisition costs.

As a key member of the small but growing marketing department you are in a unique position to directly shape the outlook of Make School. Every additional student you help us bring through door means we’re one step closer to our mission of redesigning college for the 21 st century. As such, growth is a huge focus for Make School meaning you will be set up with the resources and mentorship you need to help us achieve our ambitious targets.

What You’ll Do:

    • Draft hypothesis and design test structures to increase conversion rates across the acquisition funnel
    • Design and own execution of SEO & SEM strategy to increase relevant traffic from search
    • Set up, monitor and optimize email marketing campaigns that go out to hundreds of thousands of contacts. Our Communications Manager will supply you with the content and copy needed
    • Launch and manage paid marketing campaigns with focus on Facebook, Instagram, and Google
    • Improve website conversions, track Google Analytics and set up A / B tests
    • Constantly dive into campaign performance metrics to surface new learnings and translate insights into actionable improvements to metrics. Own customer insights projects
    • Support the marketing team by taking on additional general marketing projects

    We are looking for someone with the following (if you have most but not all of these, we still encourage you to apply):

      • At least 2 years of hands-on experience managing SEO & SEM strategy, paid social and email marketing campaigns
      • Top-notch analytical skills and the ability to organize and scrutinize data, interpret metrics and make data- driven decisions
      • Strong project management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
      • Autonomous, bias for action, resourceful, team player
      • Return oriented and inspired by measurable results

    Make School is building a new university in San Francisco. Our education combines liberal arts, computer science, software development, and character development with a strong emphasis on fully preparing students for successful careers as software engineers, product managers, or entrepreneurs. Our alumni work at Facebook, Google, Apple, Snap, LinkedIn, Lyft and more.

    Our institution is accessible to students of all backgrounds, 40% are underrepresented minority students and 50% come from low income families. Students pay tuition as a percentage of earnings once they are employed, directly aligning their incentives with ours. Make School is funded by Learn Capital, Y Combinator, Mitch Kapor, Alexis Ohanian, Tim Draper and others.

    We recently earned WASC accreditation for our Bachelor’s degree in Applied Computer Science (in partnership with Dominican University of California). We offer the shortest bachelor’s program in the country (2-2.5 years) and the first powered by Income Share Agreements (students don’t pay until they are employed).
